This beautiful hymn setting gently flows in a peaceful, joyful lilt, celebrating the ‘new day’ with bird song (the sixteenth-note flourishes in the recurring motif), rain (flowing LH accompaniment) and brilliant sun bursting through the clouds.
 
On a first glance, there are many notes to be managed in this arrangement, but if played with a careful balance between the hands (the LH always less than RH) and treating the gentle syncopations with lightness and care, the setting beautifully mirrors the text of “Morning Has Broken” to take listeners and worshipers through the verses and lift their spirits and souls to heaven!
