It's that time of year again- recital season!
There are so many wonderful resources, webinars and tips for recitals everywhere right now! How to prepare students to bow correctly, memorize music, all the things needed to have a polished performance and recital. And it's a wonderful thing to see resources and perspectives from so many great teachers!
But if you're like me and you have a very diverse studio, you may be thinking about how to achieve a quality recital without putting extra pressure on your students (or yourself). Beautifully polished music, smiling parents, confident performers, YES- but in a sensory-friendly atmosphere where student progress is celebrated over perfection, and where students of all levels, abilities, and even those with performance anxiety can participate and feel successful.
If this sounds like you or something you're interested in brainstorming, then mark your calendar for next Wednesday, April 26 @ 11am EST! We'll Zoom in together (literally, on Zoom) and brainstorm together about how to have a low-pressure but high quality recital that showcases student progress without the stress.
If you'd like to join us, just click the link below for the Zoom info (meeting ID/password below), or leave a comment on this post! Oh, and all attendees will not only receive free resources to help with recital preparation, but will also be entered for a giveaway that I'm very excited about! 🎉
Have specific topics/questions related to recitals that you'd like included in our brainstorm zoom-in? Just comment on this post or send me an email at creativepianopedagogy@gmail.com- I'm always happy to hear from you!
Until next time, Elizabeth
